Featuring presentations and book signings by well known authors and illustrators.
- Storytelling, crafts, holiday shopping, and storybook characters will be available throughout the Book Fair.
- Please help us to celebrate our 15th Book Fair! In honor of this milestone, we are planning several special treats and events.
- Where is the Book Fair? The 2006 Connecticut Children's Book Fair will be held in the South Campus Ballroom. Please visit the Directions page on this website for more information and how to find the Ballroom. Print out a copy of the Map of the Rome Commons Ballroom.
15th Anniversary Special Treats & Events

Saturday (10:15 am): "Northeast Children's Literature Collection: Our Uses, Users, and Place in the Universe of Children's Literature."
Curator Terri J. Goldich will present a description of the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center and the Northeast Children's Literature Collection, with a look at the types of materials in the Collection, its mission, users, preservation, and academic use.

Saturday (3:00 pm): Join us for a Birthday cake celebration in the Lobby Area, near the Information Desk!

Sunday (3:00 pm -5:00 pm): From 3-4 pm, Miss Charter Oak 2007, Corrina Pysa, will be making a special appearance at the Book Fair! From 4-5 pm, she will be reading in the Storytelling Room.
About Miss Charter Oak 2007: A Miss America local titleholder, Miss Pysa works to promote literacy through her program, PLAY: Promoting Literacy to America's Youth. She currently holds the title of Miss Charter Oak 2007, and will be competing for the state title of Miss Connecticut in June. Corrina is a 5th semester junior at UConn, pursuing a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Psychology. She is a representative face for the university as a news anchor for UConn's very own television station, UCTV. She is also actively involved on campus through Phi Sigma Pi, the National Honor Fraternity, and various other organizations.

Breakfast with Clifford---Saturday & Sunday!
For the third year in a row, we are pleased to offer a FREE breakfast with Clifford and other storybook characters. This year, the breakfast will be held on both Saturday and Sunday mornings during the event! Please note the new start time. This is a cafeteria-style breakfast that will be open continuously from 9-10 am. The Book Fair opens at 10 am. The event will be conveniently held in the same building as the Book Fair, just one floor below the Rome Commons Ballroom.
PLEASE NOTE: As of October 18, 2006, all spaces for the breakfast on SATURDAY and SUNDAY have been filled. However, there is a waiting list for spaces that may become available.

Book Fair Dates for 2007
Planning ahead? So are we! The Book Fair is usually held on the second weekend in November. We've tentatively set the date for 2007 already.
