About the Connecticut Children’s Book Fair
The Connecticut Children’s Book Fair encourages children’s literacy by developing an enthusiasm for reading and writing. We believe that a love and respect for children’s literature doesn’t end when we grow up as proven by the interest in the Northeast Children’s Literature Collection (NCLC) at the UConn Library. The Collection is a nationally prominent collection of over 120 archives of notable authors and illustrators of children’s literature used by researchers from across the globe.
The two-day Fair is located on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, CT. In addition to the signings and sales, the Fair includes presentations by authors and illustrators, activities for kids such as story time and breakfast with costume characters, and a series of programming including a conference for educators. All of the activities are designed to offer the opportunity for children, aspiring artists and writers, parents, educators and collectors the chance to meet their favorite authors and illustrators.
